I didn't hate the movie. It just didn't really excite me.

Maybe I'm just old enough that all of the plot points and action sequences were familiar from other films.

I'm expecting a glorified music video. If the music is good and the visuals are cool I'll be happy.

The criticisms around Ares sounds a lot like the criticisms of Legacy when it came out so I'm actually pretty excited. Tron: Legacy is one of my all-time favorite movies and it's basically a two hour Daft Punk music video.
