It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop... ever, until you are dead.

Nope. Sure scale comes with lots of communication and coordination overhead that many people don't enjoy, but middle management exists to provide a place to dump all that annoying stuff.
