I recently purchase a miniPC with the N97 chip. I didn't have a specific use in mind that would require CPU speed (e.g. gaming or emulation), just a miniPC that I could tinker around with and maybe use as a media server or VPN.

I went with the N97 chip versus N100/N150 since the price point is significantly lower and I didn't want to spend several hundred on computer I'm just tinkering with.

What surprised me is that it's actually pretty fast. I'm running Win 11 for now and it's pretty snappy. The only thing that jumped out to me is that disk transfer speeds are noticeable slower. It easily exceeded my expectations as I expected a PC that struggled with win 11.

No doubt if I stressed the CPU I'd see it throttle and slow down pretty quickly, but as a basic PC for web browsing or MS Office work, it's absolutely fine.
