The commercialization and exploitation of this game made it basically unplayable for me. I’m hoping they won’t do the same with Uncharted since I’ve yet to play the last sequel.

In what ways? How does it detract from the gaming experience?

I want the games I play to be an escapism. By proliferating them in media further it destroys that for me, because it’s now everywhere and no longer an escape. For many of us growing up, and in learning to code and build shit, escape from the “real world” was a cornerstone etched with bad experiences.

If you want to make a movie, make a movie. Don’t make a game and then make a movie about it and splatter posters and billboards all over about it.

Sounds like it to me. I fail to see how commercialization, particularly by way of making new things based on the old thing, removes the escapism.
