Nobody wants a Breaking Bad ending like Walter White hiding out in a New Hampshire cabin or Ted Kaczynski scribbling his manifesto on cold winter nights.

I assume that buying a machine gun to single handedly murder a biker gang is outside the scope of most of our experiences so not worth mentioning. The real end for me was him alone in a cabin with a barrel of cash. To me that was a more realistic ending.

If anything, your correction proves my point. Most people don’t want living alone in a cabin as their ending.

Actually, I'd forgotten about the New Hampshire hideaway episode. The (actual) final episode was much more memorable.

And I'll agree that "living alone in a cabin" ... while you are the object of a nationwide manhunt ... is not how people want to live!

It was forgettable because it was unspeakably depressing. My great-grandfathers had to live like that but they worked hard to provide their descendents with better opportunities. I'm retired, old, on a fixed income and live alone so I've made my peace with it. I wouldn't recommend it for people trying to have a dating life!
