Sorry to hear that. I could imagine that leadership actually didn't know you were being laid off. So the VPs and C-level execs might actually be pissed that someone laid off their go to person.
Another perspective I'd like to offer is one of renewal. You can move forward and find something that suits you even more. Something I am quite envious about right now to be honest. Maybe a sabbatical?
