As a consultant this is my bread and butter, so it's kind of funny.

That was my reaction, too.

My answer to that question: I'm doing it right now, and have had to do it at least occasionally in almost every job I've ever had.

Agreed - I've never had a job where I didn't have to do this.

Yeah. And never mind debugging that codebase. How about being on call for that codebase in production.

and i enjoy doing it to boot.
