Tog's Paradox

This is the weightlifter's paradox.

Lifting weights never gets easier. Lifting weights and getting strong makes the weights heavier.

Similarly with the difficulty of many things. When you learn some math, you go on to learn some more complicated, more abstract math. When you solve a research problem, it creates new, often harder puzzles.
