I dislike Ubuntu, but I'm glad it exists. It gives more normie-adjacent people an alternative to frickin' Windows. And it gives the "year of the Linux desktop" crowd a project to base their efforts on leaving me in peace with my command-line-heavy, systemd-free, GNOME-free distros.

Ubuntu becoming (probably) most popular gateway (drug/distro) from Windows to Linux is a positive development. And you can even install Ubuntu for Windows!

I've always appreciated macOS for merging BSD with the Mac desktop and apps, and Ubuntu for Windows has similar benefits (even more so if you use docker/podman/k8s or other Linux-specific tools.)
