I don't think these fabric awnings have great performance in:
Maintenance
Fire
Wind and weather resistance of fabric
Appearance
Weather protection for building siding
Conversely, buildings nowadays are covered in fixed awnings that are fully integrated with the building envelope, they work great and are engineered to last the life of the buildings.
Am I missing anything?
