> Of the more than 850,000 AI engineers across America, 7.9 percent are Chinese, according to a 2017 report from LinkedIn.

850,000 sounds way way too high.

> While Chinese engineers are well represented in the Valley, the perception is that comparatively fewer advance to the top rungs, a phenomenon labeled the “Bamboo Ceiling.”

American culture does reward asshole-behaviour a lot more than one can tolerate sometimes. It's definitely not just a conservative problem, so don't go blaming it on Trump.

Maybe you're repeating what people have said to you, but it's a very liberal bubble thing to say it's a conservative problem. Weinstein and Jobs certainly aren't (weren't) conservative. Rahm Emanuel isn't considered a sweetheart.

Also, conservative outlets (the National Review, the Weekly Standard, etc.) generally opposed Trump's campaign, so that's not even the correct label if we're going to get partisan about this. I like to argue that he's a personality with whims and allies more than an ideology. I think the case that he's properly "conservative", either in politics or in temperament, is a little thin.

But to agree with your actual point, American culture is tolerant of terrible behavior more than it should be. The fact that Donald "grab them by the pussy" Trump was elected is downstream of that problem. Though arguably Hilary "bimbo eruptions" Clinton was seen as an enabler of other terrible behavior instead of a clear contrast to Trump's.
