Basically ApnaCollege created a video which was all fine until in the end that they decided to do a test on expressjs itself
People followed (I don't blame them), most are from colleges who honestly might want to learn git because they want to have it on their resumes or they are working on a project with deadend which might involve git.
I think that apnacollege could've done something about it. The creator of ApnaCollege Amit dhatterwal is a chill guy from what I know so I don't really know why they didn't do anything out of the whole situation.
ExpressJs team did do something about the whole scenario iirc and I do not know what is the state of project right now but I saw this whole drama happen from 2 years till right now and I am sure that github team (if it could've been more flexible I suppose?) could have definitely done something about it
I am interested if you guys think that github could've done something about it or how and just opinions on the whole thing, Sorry if its a little offtopic but the point here was that the accounts doing it weren't "spam accounts", they were fresh accounts created (imo) to try out github as the video was about learning github and git and the video showed the github registration process too so most accounts were created while watching the video.
