True AI monopoly would be seamless and undetectable. If AI had real dominance, we wouldn't even notice identity deception - it would perfectly manage information flow.

The visible "authenticity crisis" (deepfakes surging, identity uncertainty) shows AI systems are still competing, not coordinating. This looks more like a messy transition period than ultimate control.

The 17:1 machine-to-human ratio creating identity chaos suggests we're in the storm before the calm, not the final state.

That's assuming humans are totally out of the loop and no longer in control. I don't believe it's a binary thing as I think it's a matter of balance.
