I'd tone down a little. (And the same goes for bigwigs such as Ioannidis et al.) There are several so-called meta-science projects ongoing, and their results indicate that the situation is hardly as bad as presented by laypeople and populists. And, yes, self-correction happens, as it has always done, but it takes time (read: decades).
